Frequently asked questions
Common questions about our service, pricing, and process.
Why does concrete crack or settle in Houston?
Mostly because of what's under it. Houston sits on expansive clay that swells when it's wet and shrinks when it dries out, so a slab on a base that wasn't prepared right moves and cracks. Concrete here has to be built for it: a compacted base, steel reinforcement, a slope that sends water away, and control joints cut at the right spacing so any cracking happens at the joints instead of across the slab.
Can you pour concrete in Houston's heat and rain?
Yes, with the right planning. Concrete sets faster in high heat, so we schedule pours for the cooler part of the day, watch the storm forecast, and give the new slab time to cure before anyone drives or builds on it.
Do you charge for an estimate?
No. The estimate is free, and you get a written quote before any work is scheduled. We look at the job with you, explain what it needs, and put the price in writing.
